Mr. Kenji Takahashi introduced potteries and stone tools excavated in Kagi area to the academic society.
1917

Mr. Ryuzo Torii and Mr. Taketoshi Iwai excavated the south bank of the Karako pond and reported it.

Mr. Rokuji Morimoto excavated and examined the Site and its artifacts.

Mr. Sanpei Ueda from Nara Historic Site Investigation Board investigated the trench located outside the west bank of the Karako pond.
1929

Mr. Matsujiro and Tuneo Iida in Karako published an illustrated book of their excavated artifacts.
1936
1st
Mr. Masao Suenaga excavated and investigated the Karako pond when the Route 15 (current Route 24) was constructed. The excavated wooden agricultural tools revealed that agricultural society existed in the Yayoi period. 'The chronoloica tablel',which indicate the relative date of artifacts, was established thanks to a large volume of excavated potteries. This became the foundation of studies of the Yayoi period.

A excavation was conducted when the North Kindergarten was built. The large moat surrounding the southern part of the village was found. Casting tools including earthen and stone molds of bell-shaped bronze vessels. This highlighted the role of the community which cast bell-shaped bronze vessels.
*By this investigation, it was ascertained that the Site also covered the Kagi area. Thus, the name of the Site was changed from the Karako Site to the Karako-Kagi Site.

A hole for storing acorns early in the Yayoi period and earthenware shaped chicken head were excavated.
1982

Five circle moats were found surrounding western part of the village. Stone sword in the sheath was excavated.
*At this time, the investigation was taken over from Nara Prefectural Archaeological Institute of Kashihara to Tawaramoto Board of Education.
1983
16th
Unfinished stone knives and rough stone of rhyolite from Miminashi-yama Mountain in Kashihara were excavated. It ascertains that stone knives were producted in this site.
1985`86

Human bones were excavated from a grave of wooden coffin. They were examined and found to be the bones of an adult male with his roots in China.
1987`88
33rd
The southern border of the vallage was identified. Pieces of thin bronze pikes and wooden pikes were excavated.
1991
47th
Four circle moats and piles as bridge piers were found surrounding southern part of the village. These were assumed to be an entrance to the village. Pottery with drawings of the Tower was excavated.
1992
50th
Pottery with drawings of bronze pike and pottery from the Tenryu River were excavated.
1993
53rd
Comma-shaped beads of jade and jasper beads were excavated.
1997`98
65th
The remains of furnace for casting bronze tools were excavated. Casting tools were excavated, too.
1998`89

Boundary marking ditches were found. They are assumed to surround the center of the community in the southern area.

Remains of a large building built in the earlier middle of the Yayoi period were found.
